AMERICAN ROBIN
Turdus migratorius

This bird is a familiar visitor to inhabited environments, such as our gardens, our parks, our farms, and our thinned forests. The American Robin migrates south quite late in the fall, between November and December, and returns early, often in March. He may stay here during the winter. It nests from April to October and lays 3 to 4 eggs (twice during the season) incubated by the female for 11 to 14 days. The chicks will make their first flight approximately 14 to 16 days after hatching.

The American Robin loves earthworms, fruits and berries. Since he nests early, often when there is still snow, offer him twigs and mud to make his nest. He also enjoys swimming and will not hesitate to use a birdbath.

This bird is generally solitary and relentlessly chases flying insects. It likes the edges of streams, ponds, roads, or gardens. The Phebi Flycatcher migrates following the abundance of insects and leaves towards the south between September and October and returns between March and May. It nests from April to August and lays 5 eggs (twice during the season) incubated by the female for 16 days. The chicks will make their first flight approximately 15 to 17 days after hatching.

The Phebi Flycatcher loves to perch to spot flying insects and will happily use perches less than 10 meters high.
